Event Recap: The Black Public Relations Society of Los Angeles 20th Anniversary Trailblazers Awards

The Black Public Relations Society of Los Angeles (BPRS-LA) 20th Anniversary Trailblazers Awards was held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the California African-American Museum (CAAM).

BPRS-LA honored Trailblazers in Communications and Culture. The anniversary event consisted of an awards gala and reception that honored twenty (20) African-American PR veterans and rising stars in media.

Notable names included immediate past president Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences (AMPAS), Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Beverly White, News Journalist, NBC4 Los Angeles, Tosha Whitten-Griggs, Senior Vice President of Public Relations for TV One; Kristin Robinson, Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations for Shondaland; and Michael Lewellen, Trail Blazers Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Engagement, amongst many others.

The 2018 event sponsors included CBS Entertainment Diversity & Inclusion, Cartoon Network, and Uncle Nearest 1856 Premium Whiskey. Hosted Bar. Catering was provided by Watts Coffee House. Music by the world-famous DJ DeVoux.
